Nike Football Camp is a one- to two-week residential summer camp for boys aged 9 to 17 held at the Charterhouse School, a leading English public school near London. The boys are coached by Chelsea FC Foundation staff, following a training programme inspired by that practised by Chelsea Football Club. Players can choose to focus entirely on developing their football skills on and off the pitch with the TOTAL FOOTBALL programme, or to also improve their language skills alongside their football skills with the FOOTBALL+ENGLISH programme.
The Charterhouse School is an internationally renowned British public school founded in the 1600s. The school has been in its present location in Surrey, near London, since 1847. The breathtakingly beautiful main building is surrounded by 10 acres of green fields and other more modern buildings.
The Chartehouse has an important football history behind it. It was here that the rules of the modern game were defined during the first meeting of the Football Association in 1863. The Old Carthunsians, a team of Chartehouse alumni, won the FA Cup in 1881.
With 12 natural grass football pitches scattered around the idyllic campus, the school offers a historic and challenging environment for young footballers.
Both programmes can last one or two weeks.
TOTAL FOOTBALL: This programme is not suitable for beginners. In order to participate, young people must already have some football and language skills. The programme includes up to 31 hours per week of training, competitions and workshops with the Chelsea FC Foundation.
Goalkeeper training focuses on developing their skills through daily technical sessions, in addition to participating in the training sessions provided for the field players.
FOOTBALL+ENGLISH: The programme is suitable for any level of English language proficiency. It includes a 13/14 hours per week course using an accelerated English language learning model + 18 hours per week of training, competitions and workshops with the Chelsea FC Foundation (see Total Football programme).
