Travel to Costa Rica: A Paradise of Nature and Adventure

In this oasis of peace, lovers adventure seekers can discover pristine lagoons, wander deep into the jungle or walk along the slopes of a still active volcano. Day by day

Day 1: Italy - San José

Departure fromItaly by flight to San José, via Madrid. Upon arrival in the capital of Costa Rica, transfer and accommodation in the hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 2: San José - Excursion to the Doka Coffee Plantation, Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Garden

After breakfast, departure to the city of Alajuela along the Pan-American Highway. On the way you will pass the Farmer's Monument and the Parque de los Mangos, until you reach the Doka coffee plantation. Here you will discover the life cycle of Costa Rica's 'golden grain', from the first stages of the plant to roasting and packaging.

Next, we will ascend towards the Poas Volcano, passing through strawberry and flower cultivations, until we notice the change in temperature and vegetation: we will enter the famous 'cloud forest'. After admiring the sulphurous fumaroles of the main crater, the journey will continue to the Caribbean side to visit La Paz Waterfall Garden, a natural park famous for its waterfalls and thematic gardens, including the mariposarium (butterfly garden), hummingbird garden, serpentarium and ranarium. Lunch included and return to San José in the afternoon.

Day 3: San José - Tortuguero National Park

Departure at dawn for the Tortuguero National Park, located on the northern Caribbean coast. After reaching the village of Guapiles, we embark on a cruise along the park's canals, surrounded by dense vegetation and accompanied by the sounds of the local fauna. In the afternoon, accommodation in the lodge and visit to the village of Tortuguero. Full board.

Day 4: Tortuguero National Park

Full day dedicated to exploring Tortuguero National Park, famous for its rainforests, waterways and great biodiversity. You will see different species of trees, orchids and animals, including iguanas, monkeys, caimans and sea turtles that come to nest along the park's beaches. Excursions and boat rides along the canals will allow close observation of the rich fauna of the area. Full board.

Day 5: Tortuguero Park - La Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano

After breakfast, departure for La Fortuna, a town located at the foot of the Arenal Volcano. This perfectly conical volcano is one of the most active in the country. In the afternoon, visit to the thermal springs of Rio Tabacón, where you can relax in the thermal pools while enjoying the spectacular view of the volcano. Lunch included.

Day 6: La Fortuna - Excursion on the Rio Peñas Blancas

In the morning, raft ride down the Rio Peñas Blancas, a perfect experience to admire the biodiversity of the rainforest. In the afternoon, visit The Springs Resort & Spa, where you will dine in an atmosphere of complete relaxation. Dinner included.

Day 7: Arenal Volcano - Playa Dominical

Departure for Playa Dominical, an important ecotourism area in Costa Rica. On the way, stop at some beautiful country villages. Arrival and accommodation at the hotel, with the afternoon at leisure. Breakfast included.

Day 8: Excursion to Corcovado Park

A day dedicated to visiting Corcovado National Park, one of the most beautiful and rich biodiversity of the country. Among giant ferns, orchids and liana-covered trees, Corcovado is home to many endangered species, such as jaguars, giant sloths and toucans, as well as the largest colony of Ara Macao parrots in Central America. Packed lunch included. Full board.

Day 9: Excursion to Caño Island

Day dedicated to an excursion to Caño Island, known for its coral reefs and evergreen forest. You will also visit the remains of a pre-Columbian necropolis. In the afternoon, time at leisure for bathing activities. Packed lunch included. Full board.

Day 10: Playa Dominical - San José

Return to San José and check-in at the hotel. Free time to visit the city and the National Museum. Breakfast included.

Day 11: San José - Italy

Breakfast and transfer to the airport for the flight back to Italy, via Madrid.

Day 12: Italy

Arrival in Italy in the afternoon.
