Known as the 'garden of England' for its landscape, Kent also has some of the most beautiful and famous gardens in the UK of which probably the most famous is Sissinghurst created by Vita Sackville-West in the 1930s. Also famous is the University which, together with the University of Greenwich, forms part of the Medway Campus.
The Garden of England is not only famous for its flower-filled meadows, the beauty and stories this land has to offer are endless; from Canterbury Cathedral, seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury no less since the 1600s, to the village of Coxheath, where once a year a pie throwing contest, 'custard pies', is held; to the US President's desk, built from 'Resolute' wood, made in Chatam in the county of Kent.
Another speciality of the house, are the numerous castles, where one cannot fail to mention Leeds Castle, certainly one of the most beautiful and evocative. Built on the banks of a lake, which enhances its charm, the castle is filled with antique furniture and paintings. Among its attractions, in addition to concerts and exhibitions organised throughout the year, there is also an intriguing labyrinth.
Fabulous landscapes, secrets and stories, a perfect mix of study and fun.
The Medway campus is located at the University of Greenwich in the county of Kent in south-east England. It is located just one hour from London's Gatwick Airport. The campus has modern and excellent facilities, both classrooms and sports facilities, the campus is also close to some interesting places such as London, Dover, Brighton, Canterbury; and is only a short walk from Docklands Shopping Centre.
The student residence is located on campus, equipped with small flats, each with single rooms and private bathrooms, and common areas including the kitchen where students will have the opportunity to interact and get to know each other better, a wonderful opportunity to make new friends.
Student safety is a priority, which is precisely why the campus is organised with a 24-hour surveillance service.
The English language course is taught by native speakers who are highly qualified in teaching English to foreigners. During the first day of class, students will take a language proficiency test in order to be placed in the class most suited to their level. Classes are organised by level, from elementary to advanced (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1).
There are 15 hours per week of lessons. Classes will be held from morning to afternoon, alternating with free days, where excursions will be made.
