Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland. It stands on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth, about 70 km east of Glasgow and is built on seven hills. What is most striking about Edinburgh is its extraordinary architecture. Indeed, the capital of Scotland is among the most charming cities in the United Kingdom, with its Gothic-style buildings and cobbled streets of the Old Town, but it is also imbued with the typical sense of humour for which the Scots are known and loved the world over. Edinburgh is also a city full of mysteries, intriguing stories and ghosts, as well as being a literary city. Some of the most important English-speaking writers have stayed and worked here, including J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter.
Located in the historic seaside town of Musselburgh, Queen Margaret University's college is just a 7-minute train ride from Edinburgh city centre. The college is modern, surrounded by extensive green spaces and equipped with excellent indoor and outdoor sports facilities, a comfortable Student Union, an education centre with modern, interactive classrooms and a dining hall with views of the Scottish countryside.
The residential area is located on campus and is organised in flats for 4/6 students, each equipped with WiFi, a kitchen and a communal lounge area. Accommodation is in single rooms with private bathrooms. Security is guaranteed 24 hours a day.
The English language course is taught by native speakers who are highly qualified in teaching English to foreigners. During the first day of class, students will take a language proficiency test in order to be placed in the class most suited to their level. Classes are organised by level, from elementary to advanced (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1).
There are 15 hours of lessons per week. Classes are held from Monday to Friday, alternating weeks in the morning or afternoon. Each class consists of a maximum of 15 students.
The classrooms are comfortable and bright, equipped with Wi-Fi, projectors and multimedia boards. Textbooks and teaching materials are provided directly by the school.
At the end of the course each student will receive a Certificate attesting to the level of language proficiency achieved.
