Leeds is situated in the heart of Great Britain and is a modern, cosmopolitan city that does not, however, lack an interesting historical and cultural heritage. It sits on the banks of the River Aire and, like many of Yorkshire's great cities, boasts a glorious past, of which the imposing Victorian-era buildings dotting the city centre, including the Leeds Town Hall, a concert hall and theatre, and the Victoria Quarter, the first shopping centre in the north of England, remain testimony. Today, after London, it is one of the top shopping destinations.
Leeds is an excellent base from which to explore the major cities of northern England such as Manchester, Liverpool and York.
The university campus is located in beautiful parkland on the outskirts of Headingley and approximately 5 km from the centre of Leeds. The campus includes modern, interactive classrooms, an excellent sports centre and extensive green spaces perfect for outdoor activities.
The student residences are located on campus and are organised in flats that can accommodate 4 to 9 students in single rooms with private facilities. Some double rooms are also available. Each flat is equipped with a kitchen and a common lounge for students to relax in.
The campus is also equipped with free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour video surveillance system and a secure flat access system.
The English language course is taught by native speakers who are highly qualified in teaching English to foreigners. During the first day of class, students will take a language proficiency test in order to be placed in the class most suited to their level. Classes are organised by level, from elementary to advanced (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1).
There are 15 hours of lessons per week. Classes are held from Monday to Friday, alternating weeks in the morning or afternoon. Each class consists of a maximum of 15 students.
The classrooms are comfortable and bright, equipped with Wi-Fi, projectors and multimedia boards. Textbooks and teaching materials are provided directly by the school.
At the end of the course each student will receive a Certificate attesting to the level of language proficiency achieved.
