Oman is a land that enchants, a country that seduces with its millenary traditions, breathtaking landscapes and hidden treasures, ready to nourish the soul of those in search of authentic emotions. Golden and reddish dunes that dance with the wind, the enveloping scent of spices and incense in the lively souqs, sumptuous mosques and royal palaces that tell stories of sultans, ancient fortresses that defy time and lush oases that emerge like mirages in the heart of the desert. And then, the night in the desert: the starry sky as the ceiling, the crackling of the fire in the centre of the tented camp, the hushed voices sharing emotions far from the frenzy of the world. An experience that remains etched in the soul. Oman is all this and much more. A dream destination for those who want a journey of the exotic, where every moment is an invitation to be surprised.
A group tour to Oman will offer you the opportunity to share unique moments with other travellers, discovering together the authentic warmth of its people and being enveloped in a magical atmosphere worthy of 'The Arabian Nights'.

Day 4 | Sur - Wahiba
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we visit Sur, an ancient port of great importance in Oman's history, with its Sur waterfront and dhow shipyard. For centuries, Sur was the main Omani centre for trade with India and East Africa, from the 6th century until the 19th century, when decline came first with the abolition of the slave trade and later with the opening of the Suez Canal. We will visit the factory of the 'dhow', the traditional Arab wooden boat that has been built in Sur for centuries and which, still today, artisans
Omanites continue to use. Traditional techniques and tools, essential to the prevalence of Oman's maritime trade in the past, are used to build these boats. After Sur, we will head towards Wadi Bani Khalid. Before entering the wadi, we will change buses for 4WD vehicles and proceed to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the country's most impressive oases. It is a fertile oasis covered with a dense forest of date palms and natural pools surrounded by dramatic cliffs, where we will have time to take a dip amidst cascades of emerald-coloured water. Time at leisure for lunch. Afterwards, we will head to the Wahiba Sand Dunes, an enormous extension of about 200 km long and 10 km wide, covered by dunes up to 150 metres high, whose colours vary from orange to dark amber depending on the time of day. The Arabic name for this area of dunes is
Ramlat al Wahaybah and corresponds to a vast area of very active ancient dunes that falls within the central Omani desert, between the Hajar Mountains and the Hikman Peninsula, known as Sharqiyah. In the afternoon, we will enjoy the experience of driving through these impressive dunes, until we reach a vantage point at the top of the chosen dune to watch the sunset. Arrival at the hotel, accommodation in the reserved rooms. Dinner and overnight stay.
